Are you aging in a meaningful way? Are you taking in new perspectives and challenges? Maybe you've tried some new creative pursuits or have found an avenue to volunteer your mentorship in a new way. Exploring and hopefully having a full life that is also a life of meaning. It's finding the courage sometimes that stops most. Life is full of surprises that can change that too.

More and more seniors are feeling overwhelmed and more and more young people are struggling with their mental health. In a world with lightning speed technology we are inundated with split second news and in that, the ability to react in the same measure.

Filtering the information is important. Keeping connected with real people is too. Our external attachment changes and we are choosing simpler experiences over things. Time with loved ones, time in nature, cultivating gratitude, experiencing calm.

Our sense of purpose in aging is directly tied to our longevity. It can help reduce cognitive decline, help avoid negative pitfalls and help keep us feeling more independent. When we maintain the aspiration and patience to learn and grow we see progress in the whole mindscape of aging.

Our physical function improves when we stay in the game and we can actually decrease our fear of death with the confidence of involvement. So when you are asked if anything still surprises you in life are you taking the reins to continue to explore, connect and surprise yourself?
